Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers (injectable fillers) are used to refine and improve the appearance of the skin and treat volume loss.
Dermal Fillers administered correctly can subtly smooth, soften, contour and tone the skin; restore youthful plumpness and enhance and define your features. Dermal fillers are especially popular to add volume to the middle face and create a fuller appearance. (British College of Aesthetic Medicine).
Dermal fillers can be administered into lips, nasolabial folds (the lines extending from sides of the nose to the edges of the mouth), marionette lines, sculpting cheeks, the tear trough (eye) area and adding definition to the chin and jawline.
Since some dermal fillers are naturally absorbed over time, patients may need to repeat the procedure after some time to maintain the desired effect. Dermal fillers can be expected to last between 6-12 months. Successful results will depend on the underlying tissue structure and the volume and type of filler used. The time that the effect lasts depends on the filler material, the area where it is injected and lifestyle factors.
